Position Overview: At Briefcase Coach, we are seeking a Lead Development Specialist to drive business growth by engaging with potential clients and qualifying leads through calls, emails, and LinkedIn. In this role, you will conduct consultative calls, evaluate clients’ needs, and collaborate with our executive team to provide tailored career solutions for senior-level professionals. You will play an essential role in expanding our client base and ensuring a smooth transition from consultation to service engagement, all while leveraging CRM and marketing tools to track and manage leads.

How You’ll Make an Impact at Briefcase Coach:

  • Engage with prospective clients through calls, emails, and LinkedIn messages to assess their career needs.
  • Qualify inbound leads and schedule discovery calls with our team.
  • Conduct consultative calls to evaluate clients’ goals, determine if we are a mutual fit, and recommend the best path forward.
  • Partner closely with our executive resume writers to ensure a smooth transition from consultation to service engagement.
  • Use our CRM and marketing automation tools to track leads, follow-ups, and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging and improve lead conversion strategies.
  • Provide insights and feedback on lead quality and common client needs to enhance service offerings.

Day in a life:

Here’s what a typical day might look like:

  • Begin the morning by reviewing inbound leads and prioritizing your outreach.
  • Schedule discovery calls with potential clients for the coming days.
  • Dedicate 1-2 hours to consultative calls, helping prospective clients assess whether we’re the right fit for their needs.
  • Review your pipeline, sending follow-up messages and texts to keep the conversation moving.
  • Draft and send emails to prospects as part of a month-end push to close opportunities.
  • Wrap up the day by researching LinkedIn profiles of key leaders from companies currently in transition, identifying new leads for future outreach

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or a related field. Or relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in sales, consultative selling, marketing or lead generation.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in lead generation, sales, client engagement, or a related role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with high-level professionals.
  • Proficiency in CRM and outreach tools.
  • Ability to build trust with potential clients and articulate the value of our services.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • A self-motivated and adaptable mindset, with the ability to work independently in a professional environment.
  • Familiarity with the executive job search landscape is a plus.
  • Has a grasp of business terminology, using terms like KPIs and P&L, enabling effective communication with executives without requiring in-depth industry knowledge.
  • Exhibits kindness, crucial in a remote work environment where the benefit of the doubt is essential in interactions.
  • Maintains discretion, respecting the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates confidence when engaging with high-profile clients, recognizing the value the company provides in helping them articulate their stories.
  • Values people, understanding the direct impact our work has on individuals’ livelihoods.

Work Environment:

  • This remote position has flexible hours, requiring a commitment of 12-20 hours per week.
  • Hours in the summer can drop to 8-15 hours per week.
  • Must be available during peak daytime hours to accommodate clients, including those on the West Coast.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports directly to Sarah Johnston and works closely with her as a key partner.
  • This position does not involve managing a team.

Culture: Working at Briefcase Coach entails being part of a small, boutique executive coaching practice. While not adopting the term “work family,” we foster a supportive environment. The owner, a dedicated parent, maintains a flexible schedule, reflecting the dynamic of a small business.

Compensation: Hourly rate is between $18-20/hr + $100 weekly attainable incentive bonus + monthly bonus opportunity. Summer is intentionally slower. Lead qualifier has the option to convert to an hourly rate of $30/hr rate for the months of May, June, and July if desired, but bonuses would not apply those months.

  4. Round 3: Candidate may be asked to interview with fellow team members.
  5. Round 4: Finalists will be asked to complete a Strengths Finder assessment.
  6. The final candidate will be notified of an offer pending a background check.
  7. Agree on a start date around mid-March.
