Want to know the ONE thing in the job search process that you can control?
It's your attitude.
Interestingly, Serge P. da Motta Veiga's research revealed that for job-seekers who come into it with a know-it-all attitude are more likely to get discouraged and give up more easily than people who approach the whole job hunt saying, "What can I learn from this?"
A candidate who approaches their job search as an experience they can learn from — which the authors call “learning goal orientation” in the study — are better off.
What does this mean? What are some things you can "learn" from job hunting? I would love to hear from you! We all know job hunting can be a frustrating experience-- tell me something you learned during the process.
